It took me about 30 minutes to drive around Puchong to find this restaurant. If my friend were to tell me the direction clearly, I would have reach there much earlier. Malcom.....you cannot be a navigator la. This restaurant is famous for it's dry bah kut teh (Pork Tea) and my parents have not tried it before so I decided to bring them there. The business hour is 9:00am - 9:30pm and I can tell you this restaurant is packed with people all the time.
There were 2 kids inside the kitchen working like a professional. They were so fast cutting and mixing pork with sauce. I heard that these two kids has been working there since young.
As usual my dad brought his own tea to the restaurant. We just have to pay RM1 for the water and facilities. You will normally be given 2 small tea cup each and it's self service to get the fork and spoon.
Chinese Tea
The Dry Bah Kut Teh is really nice. We ordered mix pork. The most important ingredient for the dry bah kut teh is the sauce and I can tell you that they got the sauce mixture spot on. The presentation of the food was not nice but the taste is good.
Dry Bah Kut Teh - RM9.00 per person
Then came the normal wet bah kut teh. We ordered the "sai kuat" (small bone) of the pork. The soup is thick and herbal taste is there. Normally if the pork is not fresh I will know but the pork is fresh and "sweet".
Wet Bah Kut Teh - RM8.00 per person
Our table was covered with meat so we need to even things up by ordering a plate of vegetable. It's a standard vegetable with mixture of oyster sauce and garlic oil. The important thing is that the vegetable is fresh and not yellowish in colour.
"Yao Mak" - RM4 (small)
All I can say is that this restaurant is worth searching. Once you tried it, you will want to go again...or at least I will want to come again
