SRI PAANDI Banana Leaf Restaurant - PJ

Hei Indian food lovers! I have to introduce you to this Banana Leaf Restaurant. This restaurant came out in the newspaper for the controversial same restaurant name beside each other. To cut things short, it's a family matter.

The Sri Paandi that I went to is the end lot restaurant. You will see a lot of Indian waiter welcoming to the restaurant from far. They may be a bit aggressive but don't be afraid, they just want you to taste their good food.

Teh Susu Lembu "Fresh Cow Milk" is my favourite drink in this kind of restaurant. It's not the normal fresh mild that you get from supermarket. You will taste the difference when you drink it. Some people may not like this drink because of it's unique taste but I Love it!!

Teh Susu Lembu - RM1.50

The Banana Leaf set comes with bottomless rice, vegetables and chutni. There is a choice of using hand or fork & spoon. I like to use hand because it give you the extra taste...haha. You can order additional side dish like mutton, fish, squid, chicken and etc....a lot of varieties and it will make you very full after you finished. So make sure you come in with empty stomach.

Banana Leaf Set - RM4.00

The Thosai is good. It's soft and hot. They make it on the spot when you order. It's not too sour or plain. The Thosai comes with 3 types of dips and you can pick your favourite dips or take them all.

Thosai - RM1.00
In the Indian culture of telling whether the food is nice or not is through the way a person fold the banana leaf. If you fold the bottom half of the leaf away from you, it means that the food is not nice. If you fold the top half of the leaf toward you then it means the food is good and you will come again. However, not many follow this custom anymore.

Everytime when I come to this type of restaurant, I'll tend to over eat. Also if you use hand to eat, the smell will be on your fingers for about 2-3 days.
