Dim Sum @ Imperial China Restaurant - Subang Jaya

Do you guys know that all Tai Thong Group Restaurant have 20% discount on their Dim Sum during lunch time from Monday to Saturday? Although the price is still higher than the outside normal shop but I think it's worth it.

We went to the Imperial China Restaurant at Subang Jaya. They are part of Tai Thong Group. The inside is quite spacious. The table are not packed closely. Plenty of space to walk. The furniture is quite new too.

The first thing I will look for in Dim Sum Restaurant is the "Yu Tan". It's my favourite Dim Sum dish. The "Yu Tan" here is not too bad. I won't say it's the best because there is a place in Penang where they serve the BEST Yu Tan. Nevertheless, it is bouncy and juicy. Nice...I like. The serving is quite big and 3pcs per basket. In normal shop you will only find 2pcs per basket.

"Siew Mai" is another essential dish of Dim Sum. It is packed with pork meat and fresh. The Siew Mai is quite big and 4 pcs per basket compare to 3pcs per basket.

Siew Mai (Pork Dumpling)

"Har Kao" is also another favourite of mine. This one....hmmm...i feel that the skin is a bit thick. It's not sticky though. The prawn is big and fresh too. If they thinned the skin a little bit more will be perfect.

Har Kao (prawn dumpling)

The "Har Kuen" is nice too. The skin that is made out of soya taste good and not too hard. The prawn is big inside too.

Another one of my favourite dim sum dish is Ai Gua (Stuffed Brinjal). The restaurant brinjal is big and they stuffed with tasty fish paste...yummy

Gai Kua Yu Tan (Stuffed Brinjal)

One thing I like about the Chee Cheong Fun in this restaurant is that they use good flour so it's does not smell. Also the prawns inside is big and frsh

Pei Tan Sao Yuk Chuk (century egg with meat porridge) was kind of normal too me. The podridge is smooth tough. Just that it would be great if they have more century egg inside.

If you are interested in Karaoke, there is a Neway on the 4th floor as well.

Busy Corner Claypot Chicken Rice - Damansara Jaya

12 years ago this claypot chicken rice ran by a husband and wife. This couple cooked and served customers without any help. Surely hardwork, but now it pays off. They currently afford to hire 8 foreign workers to help the business. Their specialty is claypot chicken rice and soup. There are various types of Claypot Rice Style and soup types that you can choose.

That night I ordered the original Salted Fish and Thai style Claypot Chicken Rice. If they said you have to wait, don't worry about it. You just have to wait for 15 minutes max. The table turn rate is quite fast actually. Maybe that's why the rice was not fully cooked on that night. However, the chicken was well marinated and tasty. Thai style is one of my favourite there. I just like to taste of it.

Thai Style Claypot Chicken Rice

The original Salted Fish Claypot Chicken Rice is quite normal. I think the salted fish is not salty enough and it makes the rice a bit bland.

I like the soup. They prepare and steamed the soup very early in the day so it's long enough to make the soup tasty....of course there are also a bit of msg's help in it...heh

Ichiban Boshi - Pavilion KL

Ohio...people. We were at Pavilion KL watching movie on Saturday and after that my stomach started to make a lot of noise. Well....it's telling me that it's time to feed my stomach. It was raining cats and dogs outside so feel lazy to go out of Pavilion so we decided to find something inside to eat. We came about Ichiban Boshi and I remembered one of the blog commenting about the restaurant. Why not give it a go.....

The restaurant is famous for their home made soba. They are freshly made daily. I tried the Oroshi Soba (cold). Wish that I can try more than one to taste the differences but guess that I'll have to wait for next time. The noodle is definitely fresh and not sticky. I would say...just nice.

Oroshi Soba - RM 13.90

Apart from the soba, we also tried sushi. I think there was something wrong with the rice on that day. It's not only one but all of them. The other food blog did not complain about this so I think something went wrong on that day.

We tried 2 Inaris, Tuna Mayo Inari and Kani (crab stick) Mayo Inari. They stuffed quite a lot of Tuna and Kani in the Inari. If the rice weren't that hard, it will be just perfect.

Tuna Mayo Inari - RM4.00

Kani Mayo Inari - RM4.00

The Salmon Kawa Roll have a lot of things inside. Crab meat, fried salmon, crepe, cucumber and mayo. The portion for this dish is quite big for RM4.00. It taste a little bit like soft shall crab maki though.

Salmon Kawa Roll - RM4.00

It's a disaster for the Soft Shell Crab Handroll. The seaweed is not fresh and hard. Add on with the hard rice, you get a bad Handroll. I don't know what to say about this and I hope that it is only on that particular day....disappointed

Soft Shell Crab Handroll

The crispy lobster roll is new to me. I can't really taste the lobster because it is being covered by the paste. Not a fan of this dish but it's OK.

Chrispy Lobster Roll - RM4.00

You should try the Chawanmushi in this restaurant. The egg is silky smooth and they steam it perfectly. I could smell the nice fragrance of the mushi and of course it taste good. I'm glad that we started off well with Soba and end up well with Chawanmushi despite of the disappointment in the middle.

Chawanmushi - RM3.90

Oh...I almost forgot about the green tea. Actually it prefer this type of green tea than the normal green color green tea. I like to taste the fragrance of the roasted tea leaf.
