BBQ Chicken - Jaya One; PJ

I have been venturing in to Jaya One lately. Quite a few restaurant that I have yet to try out. This time I tried the BBQ Chicken Restaurant. The sign board claimed that it is the No.1 Korean Chicken Restaurant so I need to know how good it is.

First impression is that the owner of this shop really knows how to save cost. There is only 1 person to serve the customer. I was asking the waiter that is he the only guy an he said "yes". The boss only allocate 1 waiter on weekend because not many people. I think the owner is counting every penny of his/her profit.

Let me introduce you to Jerk BBQ. It's one of their famous dish. Although the name of that dish does not sound right but the seasoning makes the chicken very tasty. The coleslaw and french fries occupies 70% of the plate and the chicken on 30%. It's a bit small..I mean the chicken.

I also had the Coke Float....Why not Root Beer? Because they only have Coke and no Root Beer. I think I prefer Root Beer Float. Coke does not blend well with Ice-Cream...in my opinion.

The next dish was Charboiled Sandwich. The bread that they use is a Hot-Dog bread so it's a bit weird. The portion is really opposite from Jerk BBQ. The "sandwich" can serve two person if you are an average eater. The golden french fries is quite crispy and big.

Although the name of the dishes may sound weird but the food quality is not too bad. Will surely come again one day to try other dishes.

The Soya Shop - Ikano Power Center; PJ

Where can I get silky smooth Tau Foo Fa? I'm quite sure some of the road side stall is good but since I was at Ikano Power Center, let's try The Soya Shop. It's at the Lower Ground of Ikano Power Center....call it the underground Tau Foo Fa. In the olden chinese days...the lady who sells Tau Foo Fa (Tau Foo Sai See) is normally very beautiful but there is always exception...haha. Ok back to the serious stuff...

This shop is the higher end of a normal road side soya bean shop with various types of Tau Foo Fa topping and syrup. They also do sell their raw soya bean and syrups...really business minded.


Nothing great about the shop but just chairs and tables. Inside is so small until they need to put most of their chairs and tables out side of the shop.

Xerox ordered the red bean topping cold tau foo fa with "white" syrup. The sweetness of the syrup is just nice and the red bean is BIG. The the tau foo fa is not silky smooth.

I took the old fashion cold Longan Tau Foo Fa with "white" syrup. Actually the Longan blends quite will the "white" syrup. To me the sweetness is just right but Xerox says that it's a bit sweet. You try it and let us know.

Try to have a look at the mirror after eating it to see whether your face is smoother. Certainly not me.

Santini - Jaya One; PJ

It was a windy and cloudy afternoon. After a good workout at Fitness Centre, I was craving for food. I remembered my friend told me that Jaya 1 have quite a few restaurant so...Jaya 1, here I come. Jaya 1 is still a new place but many restaurant is starting to open there. I have many options to choose and I picked Santini for my lunch.

The interior design looks comfortable and cozy. They partitioned the smoking and non-smoking area with a wall of red glass.

This month is a budget month for me so I need to have something less "expensive" so Xerox and I went for Set Lunch. The Set Lunch comes with a complementary drink. It cost about RM14.90+ per set.

First came the ice lemon tea. It's not very nice to give a negative comment in my first blog but it is what it is...diluted. Taste like they have added too much water. Oh well...not many Restaurant gives you a quality complimentary stuff.

Then came the main dish. Both dishes was presented nicely on a big plate. Only 30% of the surface of the plate contains food. So you know the portion right?

Xerox had Mussel Tagliatelle. The mussels are fresh and the texture of the Tagliatelle is nice. Once you had a bit at it. You may feel like you are eating "Pan-Mee". Some may feel that this dish is a bit salty.

I had the Penne Pasta. Those of you who loves cheesy type of pasta will like this. It's creamy and cheesy but a bit plain. The portion is just right for a cheesy dish like this.

If you are in a hurry to go, you will need to ask for the bill before finishing the dinner. The bill comes quite slow
